FACES- The first 10-15 days of May is the last time that you can see the aurora until late August for much of Alaska. I was heading home on May 1st, 2013 when I saw the aurora explode above me. I knew I had only a short time to capture the storm. After shooting for about an hour, the northern sky began to lighten at 3am and the aurora began to disappear. When reviewing the photos the next day, my wife told me she saw faces in the clouds and aurora. Do you see them? The Alaska Natives believe their ancestors spirits are in the Aurora. Its hard to not believe that after seeing this photo.
