UFO- This aurora has got to be one of my favorites. I had given up after a long night of sitting in the cold and dark waiting for aurora to show up. I left this area and headed home to get some sleep. about 30 mins into a deep sleep my dog "Kenai" began to whine and kept hitting my hand to wake up. As soon as I opened my eyes, I noticed my room was glowing green. I jumped out of bed, got dressed and drove a short distance back to my spot and the show was on. This photo was taken the 1st part of October 2011. In the photo, you can see the perfect reflection of Arkose Ridge in the still water of Wolf Lake. This event lasted only 15 minutes and then it was gone and the sky turned pitch black. I sat in awe at what I had seen. As soon as I got home, "Kenai" got a really good scratch behind the ears and a few extra cookies.
